First Media Lesson - Kidulthood

In our first media lesson we analysed the opening 5 minutes of the film Kidulthood, We analysed Kidulthood by Mise-en-scene;


Setting and Props


- set in a school playground, school classroom, Teenagers smoking, council flats


Costume, hair and make up


- School uniform, tracksuits
- Teenagers made to look untidy which suggest the type of school the go to (state)
- Big hoop earings


Facial expressions and body language


- Feisty, rude language, deffesinve language used
- Close up of faces to show emotion
- Aggression of peoples faces
- Teachers faces look scared and intimidated
- Hand held camera effect


Lighting
- Dark (as its winter)
- In the classroom its lighter


Extra Info


- Dramatic, tension building sounds
- Camera on more characts than other ( main character)
